For the upcoming issues we want to give students from other universities, who have written an outstanding scientific paper, the possibility to publish their (Bachelor-/Master-) theses in The Bonn Journal of Economics.
The process to get published is organized as follow:

  1. Your thesis’ supervisor has to submit your paper as a .pdf as well as an evaluation of your work including grade and recommendation for publication until October 30th for the issue in June/July (April 30th for the winter issue usually published in December) via Email (bje@uni-bonn.de).
  2. Within a month after submission deadline you will be informed about the decision.
  3. If you receive a positive decision you will be provided by the editors with a template for submission and hand in a summary in English language of the paper by January 31st (July 31st respectively). This will be forwarded to your supervisor for comments and additional suggestions.
  4. The revised version of your summary must be handed in not later than March 31st (September 30th).  Figures must be provided such that we are able to modify them (e.g. original excel-sheets for graphs etc.).

The submission by your supervisor has two key functions:

  • Because we are not able to peer-review your articles, submission by your supervisor acts as a filter such that only good research is submitted/published
  • By giving supervisors, who are acquainted with your work, the opportunity to suggest improvements, we ensure the quality of The Bonn Journal of Economics

Please note that we are mainly a journal for students of the University of Bonn and thus the number of publications from other universities is limited to one per issue.

We are looking forward to receive your submissions. If you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
